Towards the end of last year, with only 3 years on my mortgage, I suddenly received an request from BAC to sign documents. In this time of rising insurance costs, maintenance fees and "Special Assessment" horror stories, I knew I needed someone on my side, with my best interests at heart to help me make an objective decision on how to respond to this rush, rush request for my signature. After all, examples of US Big Banks "dubious behavior" concerning mortgages, has been well chronicled in films like "The Big Short" and numerous documentaries. As I was current on my payments, nearing retirement, and my condo represents a substantial percentage of my net worth, I found the BAC request a bit unsettling and stressful. Questions floated in my mind like a) Why do they want this now? b) Why such a rush, rush? c) What rights will I be signing away?
Natalia patiently reviewed all of the documents I had signed since the beginning of my relationship with BAC. She then went to Broward County records and pulled all of the property records of all filings related to the property. She reviewed and explained everything to me in laymen's terms. She also laid out my options as to how I could proceed.
To me, as I near the end of my earning years, having my home ownership secured free and clear is of paramount importance in planning a peaceful stress free retirement.
Natalia's guidance in this matter, combined with her empathy, diligence, legal knowledge and perseverance allowed me to make an informed decision and preserve my long standing relationship with BAC and more importantly secure my home.
I highly recommend her law office for any South Florida Real Estate matters, large or small.
A conscientious, caring lawyer at a reasonable rate is probably a true rarity in the US, but especially in South Florida!
