I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Kaufman & Lynd. After suffering a serious injury — a broken jaw — I was already in a difficult physical and emotional situation. What made it worse was feeling like I was finally getting help, only to be left in the dark months later.
When I first contacted the firm, I explained clearly that I had already dealt with attorneys who made empty promises and then failed to follow through. I was reassured that this firm would be different and that they would take my case seriously. Based on those assurances, I trusted them to represent me.
For six months, I was under the impression that my case was moving forward. Communication was limited, updates were vague, and whenever I reached out, I was told things were being handled. Then, after half a year had passed — time that I cannot get back — I was informed they no longer wanted to continue with my case.
Six months is not a small delay. In personal injury matters, time is critical. Evidence becomes harder to gather, medical documentation evolves, and legal deadlines approach. To wait that long only to be told they’re stepping away felt incredibly frustrating and unfair.
What hurts most is not just that they chose not to proceed — it’s how long it took to communicate that decision. Had I known earlier, I could have sought other representation without losing valuable time. Instead, I feel like I was left in limbo while trusting that my case was being handled.
If you are considering this firm, I strongly recommend asking very direct questions about communication timelines, case commitment, and what happens if they decide not to move forward. Make sure you understand how often you will receive updates and what to expect if circumstances change.
This was my personal experience, and unfortunately, it added more stress to an already painful situation. I hope they improve their communication and transparency so others don’t go through the same frustration
