This might be my 2nd review, as I think I wrote one back in 2023 when we first hired Mark and his team to help with my dad's estate planning, but I wanted to come back and say more now that I've actually had to utilize the Will, as my dad recently passed.
My dad had an outdated trust from many years ago and I am SO THANKFUL that I encouraged him to update this a few years before his passing. Mark was able to advise us on which made more sense, Will vs Trust, based on my dad's situation.
Fast forward to 2026, and my dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I cannot stress enough how helpful the Healthcare Surrogate paperwork was during this very emotional time, especially since my dad did not have a spouse. As advised, my dad named one of his children as his HS, which DEFINITELY made decision-making much easier, and calmer! This is so, so important! I received multiple compliments from the staff at MD Anderson and Baptist Hospital on how thorough the documents were. Do not skip this step!
In addition, all of dad's estate paperwork was put into a nice binder with each section separated by labeled tabs, making documents easy to find. It's very overwhelming dealing with someone's estate after they pass, no matter how much you prepare. But, having this binder with me at appointments/during phone calls, made each task just a little less daunting.
Most of all, I appreciate how friendly Mark and the rest of his team have been during this process. I have never felt rushed on a phone call and every email has been responded to quickly and in a way that is easy to understand. Mark offers very fair pricing too, and we definitely contacted multiple firms back in 2023.
