I really wanted to appreciate a firm that offers affordable legal help for people who can’t pay traditional retainer fees, but my experience here has been extremely disappointing. My case was dropped after I had already paid $575 and after they had already filed paperwork on my behalf. I was later told there was a “conflict of interest” — something that should have been checked before taking my money or beginning any work.
Yes, someone did help me file paperwork, but that alone wasn’t worth the amount I paid, especially considering that I’m now left without counsel in the middle of active proceedings. To make matters worse, I was told weeks later that they had served my wife paperwork for an entirely different divorce case from 10 years ago, which is what triggered the conflict. This could have and should have been caught early.
Now I’m stuck with a legal situation I don’t know how to navigate, and every other option I’ve reached out to is giving me the same answer: conflict of interest. I feel taken advantage of, out of money, and without resources when I need help the most. This situation has left me feeling lost, stressed, and unsure what to do next.
Maybe this firm does good work for others, but in my case, I feel completely let down. If you don’t have extra money or experience dealing with legal questions, be very careful. Ask about conflicts upfront — something I didn’t know to do because I’m not a legal expert.
Right now, I’m out $575 and starting over from scratch. Really disappointed.
