I would like to commend all of you on the representation of Alicia Andrews. I’m a 69 yr old retired grandmother from Alpine, Ca, and one of my passions is to watch whats going on in our criminal justice system. I’ve watched many cases on Youtube, and I will tell you that I have never seen attorneys who have cared and fought for their client as much has you all did. At first I felt Alicia must have been guilty because according to the media she was at the shooting. However, as the lack of evidence against her failed to be produced, along with seeing how she was corned and disrespected in that interrogation room got my attention as well. Needless to say the extremely arrogant and pompous detective Ramos could have done a much better job investigating this instead of exercising confirmation bias perhaps she would not have been charged. Once all of these factors cam into play I realized that Alicia is a very young woman who got caught up in bad circumstances and she was setup.
On that final day of trial I was wanted her to testify because I knew that she had to fight for her life as you all did, and boy did she fight! I prayed that she would be strong, tell her truth and not let the prosector diminish her, and thats exactly what Alicia did, she was strong!
The love and respect that you aunties and uncles showed her came through loud and clear and that energy I know transferred to the jury. I was hoping for a full acquittal but sometimes you have to be happy for getting a little less and take those lessons and learn from them.I feel God has larger and greater plans for Alicia and I will continue to pray for her protection as she continues her journey throughout this process.
Lastly, I wanted to commend Mr McLymont on his closing. The story of the man and his dog pulled me in from the start, along with the compassion, the sprinkling of facts to remind the jury of key details was communicated throughout your speech. I will say this was one of the best closings that I’ve ever witnessed and you’re a great orator sir!
Finally that mic drop sealed the deal!
