Amir, I apologize it took me so long to leave this review. I should have done it years ago. I usually do not write reviews, but staying quiet here would be a disservice. Amir and his team have stood by me through multiple matters over the years, including criminal and non criminal cases. It is not something I am proud to admit publicly, and frankly it is shameful to even have to say, but it is the truth, and it is exactly why this review carries weight. When you are dealing with a criminal case, you are not just fighting paperwork. You are fighting stress, fear, and the possibility of life changing consequences. Amir brings calm, strategy, and relentless preparation. He is direct, honest, and deeply competent. He communicates clearly, moves with urgency, and treats your situation with dignity, even when you feel like you do not deserve it. I also want to be clear that it is not only Amir who is exceptional, it is the team he leads at The Ladan Law Firm. Over the years, my clients, family, and friends have worked with several attorneys at the firm, including John, Edward, and others, and I have only ever heard outstanding feedback. I have nothing but negative things to say about this horrible disgrace of a law firm. My perspective as a former paralegal should be helpful to a few of you. I came to the firm at a very vulnerable time. I didn’t have extra money to spend, but Amir made me feel so confident during our one hour consultation that I ditched the cheaper lawyer and decided to “upgrade”. Thinking it would facilitate a good client-attorney relationship, I paid 6k in full up front. That’s when things started to go wrong. I trusted them to handle the case, but felt out of the loop at several points. The worst part - and I cannot stress this enough - is how much of a hassle they made me feel like I was throughout my representation. They did absolutely nothing to help me feel at ease or confident about representation beyond the first consultation. When emails aren’t answered in a timely manner, the assistant cites what days and times you previously contacted the office in order to minimize your concerns, instead of making it right. It’s a pissing match over who’s right or wrong, instead of being concerned with addressing their clients concerns. Their assistant also continuously called me the wrong name the entire time I was represented, despite the fact that my CORRECT name is on all official court documents. That’s not missing a small detail. That could have caused a huge problem if something was filed erroneously under the incorrect name. Then, when I went to get my hardship license I found out (was not told by my attorney) that I actually had needed to file with the DMV within 10 days of the judges ruling for a hardship hearing. I was foolishly under the impression that the 6k price tag included representation at any and all hearings. At the very least I should have been told what to do. I have since reached out to the office four times regarding this matter, and they are refusing to address my concerns or answer any questions. They did, per my request, send some documents I needed over, but not after making sure I was well aware that I was bothering them and could have found the documents myself (I had informed them in the previous email that my office area with all of my documents had water damage and that I didn’t have access to my files, and yet they still gave me a hard time when I asked them to do their job). If you want a bare minimum attorney for boutique prices, then this is your man. If you don’t want to be told you’re a hassle for trying to find out results after important court dates, this is probably not your guy. I’m not lying when I say I was chastised for calling “too much” when I hadn’t heard the results of a court date within a couple of days. I now am paying for an interlock that I can barely afford before it even counts, because I was under the false impression that the hardship matter had been addressed. I have spent tons of time and money scrambling to do what they should have done so that I can be able to drive to work. This directly impacts my livelihood, as getting rides in the middle of nowhere at 4am to my job site is not exactly easy. If I had known this wasn’t going to be handled I would have done it myself. Failure to communicate yet again left me up a creek without a paddle. This is not how a high quality law firm operates. And for people who are already struggling with a daunting and emotional court process, their lack of compassion and general decency is incredibly disappointing.
