The years 2020-2024 were the most brutal years I have ever lived through. As if a near fatal accident and being out of work for several months wasn’t enough, gas prices were just Pennie’s from being $5.00 a gallon when I was having to commute 1 hour and 15 minutes to work each day. I eventually found myself without a job, and ruthless creditors calling me incessantly and it got so bad I turned my ringer off for a year straight. You see, I was trying so hard to pay my bills and do the “right thing”. I received no sympathy from my creditors whatsoever. After being humiliated in my front yard in front of my neighbors with court papers being served I had had enough. I called a firm that lost my case paperwork and totally forgot about me because they fired the guy who was collecting all of my documents (he never uploaded them to the attorney!) and wasted $1000 of my money and 2 months of time and I should have been done with my bankruptcy by that point. OMG, I was back to square one! I was finally referred to Aimee’s law firm and for the first time in over 4 years, I had a glimmer of hope. Just like thousands of other people that have had to go through this, it was just one horrific accident that set this in motion and it was not my fault. I had always been responsible with my finances just like a lot of people. Don’t be embarrassed is the one thing I learned from this. Predatory lenders have designed the system so that God forbid, anything like this happens to you, you will be paying them so much interest that you’ll be perpetually paying off debt for a very long time. I am very grateful for Aimee and Carlos! I hired a different law firm for my Bankruptcy case that I highly regret. The previous law firm was very rude to me.
