I suggest and recommend if you are looking for an attorney to handle your financial issues via bankruptcy. Be sure to do your due diligence and research, get informed and seek another attorney. I retained their services some time last year, paying this firm $2850.00 cash thinking that it would help my financial situation.
Unfortunately, after retaining their representation, I was involved into a bad accident which changed my decision to move forward with following through with the process. From the beginning, I was straddling the fence because I was unsure, and I felt like I did not have the proper guidance or knowledge. Because I had collectors harassing me is the reason why I got an attorney. Only to be misguided, misrepresented, and given options that were not in my best interest still dealing with medical issues from my car accident.
This process approximately takes six months, and I exceeded that into 1yr because of medical reasons. I had incomplete forms and information that needed to be submitted to follow through with filing. We did exchange 20-30 emails between retaining service and wishing to withdraw from filing in that 1yr period. Upon wishing to withdrawal from filing, I requested a refund which I was DENIED a refund. They could not and still have not properly provided me a transcript or a receipt for the charges totaling up to the $2850 that I paid upfront. Which is the cost to file and process a bankruptcy.
I highly expressed my frustration to them and I was brushed off, ignored through email and Im still waiting for them to follow up with me again regarding my refund. I still have not received a dime of the money that I paid!! When I threatened to leave a google review and use all of my social media platforms to express my experience with this firm they replied. Nowhere in my retainer paperwork does it state that they will keep any monies for services if you opt to withdrawal.
This firm lacks compassion, understanding, guidance and representation that is in the best interest of their client. I know that $2850 may not be a lot of money to many but it doesn’t come easy & just throwing away $2850 and not receiving service is robbery. I’ve given them the opportunity to redeem themselves and to properly handle this situation. Which they have failed to do so leading up to this review and next is contacting the Better Business Bureau & the Florida bar association.
Being that financial issues are vulnerable and sensitive topics, please be sure that you are making the right decision when seeking professional representation. I hope that this prohibits them from handling any other clients this way.
