I rarely leave negative reviews, but after months of dealing with this firm, I feel obligated to share my experience.
Communication was by far the biggest issue. It often felt like the left hand never knew what the right hand was doing. I’d speak with Vanessa and receive one answer, then hear something completely different from Lizet, or vice versa. There was no consistency, no clear direction, and very little follow-up.
Lizet repeatedly cited being in and out of surgery, which I understand can happen, but there never seemed to be a plan in place to ensure the client was still being properly represented and kept informed. My sister remained incarcerated throughout the representation, and from what I personally observed, there were very few attorney-client meetings and long periods with little or no meaningful communication.
To make matters worse, the firm had my contact information incorrect for part of the representation, yet they had no problem contacting me when it was time to request payment. Unfortunately, requesting payments seemed to receive far more attention than providing updates, explaining strategy, or communicating progress.
We hired this firm because we expected experienced legal representation, transparency, and someone who would fight for our family member. Instead, we spent months chasing answers, receiving inconsistent information, and ultimately losing confidence in the representation.
I sincerely hope the firm improves its internal communication and client service because no family should have to experience this level of frustration during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
